Handmade Soap Method

Each soap is 100% handmade in my soap room using the cold process method in small batches. The soap is then hand cut & cured for 4-5 weeks before being labelled and sent to you for your enjoyment.

Handmade Soap Recipe

My basic recipe contains olive oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil, palm oil & Shea butter. Some soaps contain tallow so let me know your preference. I also use sunflower oil, castor oil, avocado oil,  sweet almond oil, hemp oil, cocoa butter & lots of Shea butter. The water used in all products is filtered spring water.

The Palm oil used in my soap is now purchased from a supplier who buys from a GreenPalm Certificate Trading Programme, a RSPO (Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil)

Handmade Soap Colours

The colours are either natural or from clays, herbs, cosmetic grade oxides, ultramarines or infused oils. Extra additives to make the soap milder & more luxurious include  buttermilk, coconut milk, goats milk & crushed almonds.

Handmade Soap Fragrances

For the scented soaps we use natural essential oil or high quality fragrant oil for your bathing to be a pleasant aromatic experience.

Why Use Handmade Soaps?

Most of the soap available in shops today is not really soap at all but detergent. Detergents are petroleum based like petrol & kerosene. Do you notice when you use commercial soap your skin becomes dry & tight? That means the soap is too alkali. Other proven harmful ingredients in commercial soaps include SLS, DEA, Isopropyl alcohol, BHT & Triclosan which can cause severe skin irritation. The biggest difference in handmade  & commercial soap is that they strip out the natural glycerine to sell as a by product. Natural soap is loaded with natural glycerine & it keeps your skin soft & healthy as it absorbs water from the air. With the ever increasing man made chemicals in the world its good to use a natural product. Treat yourself!
